Led by our Director of Research, James Leggett, our team come from a variety of different backgrounds and offer a wealth of expertise in the education sector.
James Leggett BA (Hons) MMRS – Research Director:
James joined the research team in 2008 and now ensures the smooth running of our in-house research department. James has been undertaking primary and secondary research projects for over eight years and is an expert at creating and interpreting market analysis reports.
James has the Advanced Certificate in Market and Social Research and is a member of the Market Research Society, keeping him informed of changes and new developments in research. James was educated at Norwich School, where he was also a chorister in the cathedral for almost five years.
Modou Jallow BA (Hons) – Researcher:
Mo is a key member of the research team and collects and analyses various types of data in line with our client specifications and needs.
Originally from West Africa, Mo came to the UK, where he studied International Development at UEA with particular interest in education, which has helped him build an extensive network of contacts in the education world.
Deborah McKenzie – BA (Hons) Head of Marketing & Business Development:
Deborah’s impressive marketing career saw her working with Bentley Motors, ODEON and Siemens Communications, to name but a few. She specialised in the independent sector when she joined Terra Nova School in Cheshire, where she was able to increase enquiries by 25% and visits by 40%, ultimately increasing pupil numbers. Deborah heads up the team of marketing consultants at MTM and specialises in pupil recruitment.
David Cardle – Managing Partner:
David is a senior business executive having served on both private and public company boards for more than 35 years. He is an established business advisor and mentor with sound judgement and leadership skills. Politically astute and strategically aware with the ability to quickly assimilate and analyse key data.
As Chair of Governors at Stoke College, David recently led a successful financial restructuring and investment initiative securing the long term future of the school. David leads MTM’s Business Support services, applying a range of management tools to improve performance, addressing schools’ most serious challenges.
Crissey Hewitt MA – Philanthropy, Development & Alumni Relations:
Crissey began her career as a science teacher in the US and transitioned to philanthropy at Wake Forest University where she specialised in constituent research, fundraising strategy and process improvement. Crissey loves helping independent schools and universities optimise their alumni relations.
Michael Spinney BA (Hons) – Partner Headmaster:
Michael is a Head for nearly 20 years of two schools. Glebe House in Norfolk and then The Beacon (1999). Michael has served on three governing boards including Old Buckenham Hall and presently Beechwood Park. Michael has chaired the Education Committee at both of these.
Michael studied education at the University of Reading graduating with a Teacher’s Certificate with credit. He also studied the philosophy of teaching at the University of London.
For obvious reasons, we can’t name or photograph our team of mystery shoppers. However, our experienced team work internationally to help school’s improve their visit experience, resulting in significantly improved conversion rates.
